Button Eggs
Even though this project is exceptionally simple and easy, it has been one of our most popular and enjoyable technique for decorating eggs. The eggs are surprisingly cute, and can be color coordinated to match all sorts of different decors or projects. A wreath made with these eggs and blown dyed eggs and ribbon is also especially appealing. Using buttons to decorate eggs is a great way to cover holes that end up being a bit larger than you had originally desired. It is also a good way to cover eggs that have a bunch of surface imperfections or cracks. This project should only be done with Blown Eggs. They will last longer, and some of the techniques used to decorate these eggs might affect hard boiled eggs and make them unsafe to eat. Blown Eggs also will last forever and make great keepsakes or ornaments.
Undyed or dyed blown eggs Glue gun Assorted shapes, sizes, and colors of buttons
Cover your work surface with newspaper. Place the egg you want to decorate in an egg cup, or use a slice of a cardboard paper towel tube to hold your egg. Glue the buttons randomly onto the exposed sides of the egg. Let the glue dry, flip the egg over, and glue the buttons onto the other side of the egg.
