Craft Project - Beaded Heart Candleholder by Wen Zientek-Sico This candleholder makes a fun family project, beautiful decoration, or wonderful gift. The heart decoration is surprisingly easy to manage for even beginning crafters.

Beaded Heart Candleholder

This simple candleholder makes for a beautiful gift or addition to any room. We chose the classic colors of red and white, but any combination of colored beads makes for a beautiful candleholder. For a faster project, choose a smaller candleholder or larger beads. For a more freeform design, the beads can be simply glued onto the candleholder instead of being strung onto the beading wire first. We used a high temperature glue gun for our candleholder, but if you are working with children tacky glue is a safer choice and works just as well.

3 1/2 inch clear glass candleholder
Clear drying glue
Beading wire
Scissors
1000 4 mm clear beads
500 4 mm red beads

Carefully wash and dry the candleholder well. With the glue, draw several hearts in varying sizes on the candleholder. We used a 3 inch candleholder and hearts that were 4 1/4 inches, 2 1/2 inches, and 2 inches wide. Cut off a manageable length of beading wire and make a knot in one end. Glue that end to the top or bottom of the candleholder. String beads on the candleholder, making sure to string red beads in the areas where the heart has been drawn on the candleholder. Glue the string of beads to the candleholder after stringing an inch or two of beads to secure them and to make sure the pattern is being followed. Secure the end tightly to the candleholder with glue, and the repeat until the candleholder is covered entirely. Let the candleholder thoroughly dry before using with a candle.
