Fourth of July Door Hanger
Add a bit of sparkle and color to your doorknob with this festive door hanger. Simple and easy to make, this is a fun project for the kids to help with. We used materials we had on hand, but any thread, ribbons, beads, or shapes in red, white, and blue would work great.
2 feet of red yarn
Four 1-2 foot lengths of white beading thread
Pony beads in red, white, blue, and gold
Small metal bells
Three 1-2 foot lengths of red, white, or blue ribbon
Red, white, and blue foam or felt stars
Glue
Wrap the red yarn around your hand to form a circle that is formed of four lengths of thread and tie the ends together to form a wide loop. Tie one end of the beading thread to the loop and add beads and the small bells in a favorite pattern. Firmly tie off the end of the beading thread. Repeat with the remaining thread, beads, and bells. Using the glue, add the a few stars to each length of ribbon. Let the glue dry, then tie the ends of the ribbons to the loop. Hang over a doorknob.
