Craft Project - Sports Ball Photo Holder by Wen Zientek-Sico A wonderful gift idea or rainy day project, this photo holder is very easy to make. Make it an even better gift by slipping a new card, special photo, or even money into the holder.

Sports Ball Photo Holder

A favorite project for group get-togethers or rainy days, this simple activity makes for a great way for kids or adults to hold their favorite photos, sports cards, post cards, or other items. Try making a series of the photo holders and gluing them to a long board painted in a color that matches your décor for an awesome way to display a group of favorite photos or cards. We used a bright red wire and the Golf Sports Ball.

5-6 inches colored craft wire

Pencil

Scissors or craft knife

1 2 inch Sports Ball

Favorite photo or sports card

Wrap the wire around the pencil to make two small curls that will hold the photo or card. Keep the curls even, or make one slightly lower like we did to hold the card or photo at a jaunty angle. Shave off the bottom of the sports ball using the scissors or craft knife so the ball lies perfectly flat. Insert the wire to the top of the ball and then add the photo or sports card.

Variation:

Here is the same project with a bit of a twist. This version requires more time and effort (and mess!) but is not only sturdier, it looks more impressive. This is especially useful for large or heavy photos and cards.

3 inch block of wood or rock

Paint brush (optional)

Acrylic paint (optional)

Tacky glue or glue gun

If desired, paint the block of wood or rock to go with the sports ball photo holder. Let the paint dry thoroughly. Glue the flat side of the sports ball to the wood or rock.
